This policy explains what data the CourtWise app uses, what for, and how you control it. Controller: Among, CNPJ 58.088.554/0001-72.
What data we use
- Your email (or WhatsApp number, when that option exists), to send the access code.
- The name you choose to be called in the app.
- Your answers to the 13 questions about your game.
- The days you log training and the days of the week you choose to train.
- The items you save in the Catalog.
- The sessions Maria creates for you.
- Your messages to Maria, the app's assistant.
- Your ratings of Maria's answers and the problems you report.
- Technical data about your sign-in session, to keep you signed in securely.
- A technical log of code requests (contact and IP address), to prevent abuse.
What we use it for
To let you sign in without a password and to calculate your player profile: level, area to improve, training time and goal. We don't use your data for advertising and we don't sell it.
Health information
If you report pain or an injury, that information is health data. We use it only with your authorization, which you give in the app itself by tapping “I understand and agree”, and only to avoid suggesting high-intensity sessions.
Legal bases
We use your contact, name, answers, training sessions, saved items and messages to perform the service you requested when you created your account (art. 7º, V of the LGPD, the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, Brazil's General Data Protection Law). Information about pain or injury is used only with your specific consent (art. 11, I). The code request log and the access logs exist on the basis of legitimate interest, to protect the service against abuse (art. 7º, IX), and to comply with the Marco Civil da Internet, Brazil's Civil Rights Framework for the Internet (art. 7º, II).
Who we share it with
- Resend, to send emails with codes and confirmations (in the United States).
- Cloudflare, which protects and delivers the connection between the app and our servers (a global network, without storing the content of your data).
- Backblaze, which keeps protected backups (in the United States).
- Anthropic, which generates Maria's answers and helps the team standardize content (in the United States).
- Our servers are in Brazil.
- We don't sell your data and we don't use advertising or analytics tools in the app.
International transfer
Some providers are outside Brazil. In these cases, the transfer follows the LGPD (art. 33) and uses the standard contractual clauses approved by the ANPD, Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (Resolução CD/ANPD nº 19/2024), so that your data has the same level of protection it would have in Brazil. For Anthropic, the transfer happens with your specific consent, given when you accept Maria's notice before using her (LGPD, art. 33, VIII).
Maria and artificial intelligence
Maria, the app's coach, uses artificial intelligence. To answer, we send an AI provider, Anthropic (in the United States), only what is needed:
- your message and the recent messages of the chat;
- your level, difficulties, style, training time and goals;
- a summary of your plan and of your sessions in the last 14 days;
- excerpts from the Catalog.
We don't send your email, your phone number, your name or the health information in your profile.
Anthropic processes this data only to generate the answer, under its contract with CourtWise. It deletes this data within 30 days and does not use it to train its models; it keeps it longer only if misuse is suspected or the law requires it.
We keep your chats for 90 days. After that they are deleted automatically. You can delete one chat or all of them at any time in the app (Profile → Account). Deleting your account deletes all chats immediately.
If you report an answer, the question and the answer are available to our team for review for up to 90 days.
Please avoid sharing health details with Maria. She doesn't diagnose and doesn't store what you tell her in your profile.
Maria's answers are automated, may contain mistakes and don't replace a coach or a health professional.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account in the app, your account and the app's data are erased right away. Requests by email are handled within 15 days.
After that, only copies and technical logs remain, and they expire on their own: backups are replaced within 30 days. Technical logs of code requests are erased within 30 days. Server access logs are erased within 180 days.
Minors
CourtWise is for people 18 and older and does not intentionally collect data from children or adolescents. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete it along with its data.
Your rights
Under the LGPD, you can request access to, correction, portability or deletion of your data, revoke your authorization for health data and file a complaint with the ANPD. To make a request, just write to [email protected].
How to delete your account
In the app: Profile → Account (the gear at the top of the screen) → Delete account. Deletion is immediate. Without the app: see Delete your account.
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist on the website, we keep your name, your email, the page's language, the source of the link you used (if any), the version of the text you accepted and the dates of the request and the confirmation. To send the code, we also record the request's IP address.
We use this data only to tell you when CourtWise opens to everyone. We don't use it for advertising, we don't sell it and we don't share it with anyone other than the services that send our emails and store our data, already listed in this policy. Legal basis: consent (LGPD, art. 7, I), which you give by sending the form and confirming the code and can withdraw at any time by leaving the list.
An unconfirmed request is deleted within 24 hours. A confirmed sign-up is kept until you leave the list or for up to 12 months after confirmation, whichever comes first. Technical logs of code requests are deleted within 30 days.
To leave, use the link in the list's emails or write to [email protected]. When you leave, we delete your name and email from the list right away. The list is for people 18 and over: if we learn that a sign-up belongs to someone younger, we delete it.
Data Protection Officer (DPO)
As a small-scale processing agent, we are exempt from appointing a data protection officer (Resolução CD/ANPD nº 2/2022, art. 11). Even so, any request or question about your data can be sent to our contact channel, below.
